Continuing the treatments.

This weeks visit consisted of the usual needles in the belly, cupping on the back, and a vitamin C facial treatment. The needles are placed in a circle around the belly button and warm the meridians in this area called Qi in Korean or known as Chi to the western world. This is a vital area of the body where the majority of your body's organs carries out it's functions. Take your hand to the area, is it slightly cool? Coolness in this area can contribute to organs working at a slower pace, invariably creating troubles associated with these organs. I discovered cupping a while ago in Korea. It is commonly used in Asian countries. What it essentially is is several cups placed along the back, in which a vacuum to the skin is created and stimulation to the blood begins, purifying the blood. They leave circular bruises on the back for days following but is non-invasive, pain free and the result is a more relaxed feeling back and cleaner blood.
The treatment of choice these days for me though is a vitamin C "injection". First, a capsule of vitamin C is emptied onto my face and a spray of water lies down to meet the water and creates a paste. A little metal electronic gadget then begins gliding along the facial skin. As the little tool beeps away it is helping the vitamin c to be absorbed into the skin. After only one encounter with this treatment my skin sheen is more luminous and I can see my skin beginning to look more youthful- miraculous! The doctor then adds the finishing touches, an oil made from the skin of a badger.
